We finally made it to see Brother Bair. Matthew hasn't felt the best for Sat. and Sun. but it made me worry a little more when he fell asleep an hour before it was time to go. We woke him up telling him we were going to see a real cowboy and he bawled and bawled!!! I felt like it might be a flop but when Bro Bair came up and told him that was a mighty fine cowboy hat he had on and asked if he would he work a trade with him, he had Matthew's complete attention. He showed us the horse and the mule and let the children feed them apples. Then he took a halter out and put it on the horse and took the horse over to the tack shed and put a saddle on it. Bro Bair showed us what was in his saddle bags and there were a couple of water bottles and his D&C and Pearl of Great Price. He took all the little kids on a ride and then we went into his sheep camp and he shared a story about how his prayers were answered. He was out with his sheep a long ways from anywhere and the horse bucked him off and landed on top of him. He was hurt pretty bad. Getting out of bed the next moring was next to impossible. He had to go up on the mountain side and tell his son what to do and leave it up to his son and the 2 dogs he had with him. Finally the 3rd day he kneeled down to pray and asked for help. From that moment on he started to get better. When he came down to go home he went to the Dr. and they did x-rays. Bro Bair asked the technican what he could see and their reply was multiple fractures (pelvis, ribs and so forth). His prayers were answered.
I wasn't sure what Matthew thought until the next morning I got the report from Jake about how Matthew told him he must go meet Bro Bair for 45 minutes before he finally went to sleep . He was the righteous cowboy who said his prayers, read his scriptures and rode horses.
